Hi guys just wondering if anyone has put 290 cams in a 260 i have a set of 290 cams sitting around so thought why not and also will it require tuning and spring's if i put them in cheers

So i take it no-one has ever put boss 290cams in a 260 engine and or no one knows of anyone who has successfully done it

Hi, i have been hoping that someone would pipe in & answer your question. However it looks like no can or will currently answer you ..... sorry about that chief
sometimes it does take a little while before someone who 'may have' done this jumps on to answer what you or someone wants an answer to ...... are there any differances between the two motors? coz i have no idea |

You can do it. But you need the cam girdles and followers aswell because they are different.
290 engine is 10.5:1 so pistons are different. |

Plus I think you will find that the valve guides are shorter on 290 to accommodate the higher valve lift from cams.
