I would like to have a drain plug fitted to the existing pan on my Auto Trans. (AUII). Unfortunately they were built without one, and makes a bloody mess when trying to drain trans fluid.

At least with a drain plug there is more control in draining trans fluid away.

Are there any Ford gearbox pans that have drain plugs fitted that come close to current pan design of a Ford AUII or could any pan do, so as to cut, trim and weld to current AUII pan?

not sure if any pans came with a plug that will fit, I your going to go to the trouble of cut and shut a bit of pan in why not go for a Aeroflow style weld in bung tig/baize weld it in the pan and fit a plug to that. The weld in fitting should run less than $10 there available in mild,stainless and aluminum from memory, bung to screw into that should cost around $5

As far as I know, Ford AU11 Year 2000, transmission pans never had drain plugs. Instead of having a bulky part dangling down at a corner. I would be simpler for me to get transmission pan that already has one fitted mid centre and just cut and , trim it and weld that one onto the existing pan. An old mate I know has a MIG welder. The old Leyland Marina 6 trans gearbox pan had one made, just needed an Allan's key to undo drain plug.

A lot easier to control trans fluid instead of loosening 9 bolts and have trans fluid leak all over instead of one central location.
