Hello! October last year I had my bag stolen which had my keys for my 2001 au falcon, no spare key, and I didn't think it would cause this problematic. I ordered a new ignition lock cylinder, housing and barrel off eBay from an au that was getting wrecked. I thought that if I changed the barrel and housing but kept the chip that sits in the ring around the ignition that I'd be fine, I WAS SO F$%#ING WRONG!
Now the immobiliser is not allowing my car to respond cause of the key, I read 2 keys to program, I have a blank key I got off eBay along with a blank remote, here's the next hiccup, the key that turns the barrel is so worn as it's from another au that the locksmiths keep refusing to replicate it.. I also have an obd2, but the cd arrived broken and I have no idea how to work it properly as I can't connect to the ECU Please any advice would be greatly appreciated, I cannot stress how long I have been pulling my hair out over this.. Thank you!! |

Please any advice would be greatly appreciated, I cannot stress how long I have been pulling my hair out over this.. Thank you!! re obd2 ... some have been using FORScan with a computer [and a useable reader] to get around this problem .. i have not done this. |

As mad2 has stated you weii need to have the keys mated to the ecu. They can't be mated in the same way E series was. These have to be mated via Fords IDS system, Having said that there are a few people that have had luck programming and mating everything together with FORSCAN (with extended liacence) and a USB style obd2 reader. I have done key coding and ECU/PCM mating in a BA but was a while ago so cant really walk you through it as i cant remember exactly. I do remember the procedure required 2 keys that were new and not clones of originals. i cant do much to help out any more than this until the weekend when i can get some PICS, of how and what to do. then can have a look and work out the procedure then.

requires 2 keys then programming via IDS at ford ..
see if you can find an auto electrician who is able to program keys with their scan tool ..after key programming a parameter reset is required in order to link PCM to BEM module.... other option is to try wreckers for new key(preferably 2) and barrel - BEM module and PCM to suit your vehicle - auto etc. all from same vehicle previously programmed together... note. the chip is in the key the ring around ignition is the reader to read the chip and can be fitted across all au vehicles - BEM is where the key is memorized which is then linked to PCM to allow vehicle to start ring and inquire if auto electrician can program and how much compared to Ford or purchasing an extended license for your own scan tool ? |
