hi i bought a ford EL 96 sedan Auto, and it drove ok for 250 - 300 kms, and then as i accelerated on the free way the car became stuck in 3rd ( LIMP HOME MODE).

so i got another gearbox put in by a pro. how ever a month later my speedo is not working. but thats not the main problem.
The gearbox is stuck in first and intermitently changes to second ( speedo engages somewhat until a moment later it drops back into first gear. in the last 3 months ive spent more than i bought the car for to get it fixed and i liuve out of town 52 kms so im relying on it. i have a lexus but needs cv joints now and the suspention all round is shot.


please if anyone has any ideas as im lost, i know holdens not fords ;(

have you checked the cables going to the box [at the box] & made sure everything is ok there? ie connections are tight not loose.

Yes mate I did,
Took it in and got it on the houst and bloke said it was fine. But I guess doing it myself would be better but of thats the case every month itll f up. Bad considering that a professional installed the box
