Hiya all, just replaced EB motor in XG Auto with EL/XH Tickford. Head shaved, MLS gasket, injectors cleaned and new plugs. Had to use dizzy from the EB motor, reused same coil too, kept inlet and exhaust manifolds, thermostat housing and flywheel. The engine turns over, can smell fuel, but not firing. After a couple of attempts clicking sound heard and no cranking, presume not enough battery power to activate starter motor, (down to 10V on dash voltmeter). Haven't checked for spark yet, as (charging battery). Set dizzy up as per Gregory's manual TDC and Start position for rotor once dizzy drive gear engaged. Tried using timing light but infrequent strobing. I used the existing loom from the EB motor, tagged everything before removing, and reconnected same. Donor vehicle XH XR6 Manual.
