Hi,
I was driving up to Hendon ( a place in Queensland ) this morning, no probs, temperature gauge seemed to be working Normally, sitting below "N". This afternoon driving back home not far from my departure point, I noticed my temperature gauge needle sitting between "N" and going towards "O". I thought this was odd, I did not notice any leaks. Temperature outside might have been about 30 degrees Celsius but with a coolish wind. Temp gauge did fall again to below N then increased as I drove uphill. Good 420klm round trip. I'm wondering whether I have a fault like a dodgy relay or fuse blown controlling thermos electric fan , or faulty thermostat. Any advice would be appreciated. |

Hard to tell if there are blown fan No 1 and No 2 fuses. How does one determine if the fuses are blown.

Seems like your car is acting normal. Temperature increases when going uphill/towing or putting load on the car and transmission. So going uphill will see a possible increase in temp as the engine/transmission will be under load.
Is driving to Hendon more downhill compared to driving back home?

Hi phongus,
Ok, just never had it go up past "N" in the past, the last time the gauge went to "O" was when I lost some coolant going up the steep Toowoomba mountain range. I fixed that by adding additional coolant back then (over 2 years ago). Yes, driving back home is more downhill from Hendon. |
