Hi guys, thought I'd show you my seat and console upgrade, seats are black cloth from an AU I got for $60.
Its a fair process but well worth it- not only does it look good but is incredibly comfortable compared to the old seat, the drivers seat is also a fair bit higher which I like as former seat was alot lower,am using them manually atm but all the electrics are still there.
P.s can post some photoes of how it was done if anyone is interested.

Hi, yea its a bit of a process, you need the brackets of seats (in my case had a old set of eb seats which I cut the brackets off) and then you need a mig welder, so bit of a job but well worth it, my xg ute is finally comfortable

Looks really nice mate, although im in the opposite position. I am 6'4 and have trouble fitting into my XG, getting in and out the car is a pain in the a** as the steering wheel rubs against my legs and my head is constantly rubbing against the roof (Which is my current excuse for starting to go thin on top hehe) . Im not sure is xr6 seats from an EB will be a little lower and more comfy, but unfortunately if i cant make it any better i may have to sell the old girl

Hey deathclutch, you could do what I did with the AU's(if your handy with a angle grinder and have a welder) I'm also going to convert a couple of BA-XR seats, except in your case you could cut the brackets down to suit your height requirements just for drivers side-can be done hey  g

Thanks for the reply mate,

I was thinking about having a look to see if i can get away with cutting the brackets down a little to give me more room. i'd love to put ba-xr seats in, im thinking of even trying to fit a BA Dash cluster in too

This bloke has put a pretty awesome BA setup into his XF, looks wicked

Yeah absolutely love that XF, was one that helped me decide to go down the dohc conversion track, great power for a XF panno, there's a quite a few barra conversion's in the forums aswell, I reckon the ba-xr seats would look good and bloody comfortable compared to the old XG seats

Hi guys, thought I'd update this thread as the XG has had a few upgrades - as a Barra 182 & 4-speed using the Tiptronic shifter but still using the EB console, so here's a couple of pics and will update as I go, cheers, Johnny.

File comment: As you can see the BA shifter sits higher & is quite different-so console needed a bit of modifying.

Not sure how well you can see in the pictures-but the console had to be cut where the cable needed to be, so the panel I made previously with the trip computer was replaced with the one below it.
