Hi guys,

Im not able to open my boot with the button on the remote. The lights on the car flash but It doesn't release the boot and I don't hear any noise of the mechanism attempting to release the boot. The only way I can open the boot is manually with the button on the underside of the exterior of the boot. Any ideas? Ive had a good look through the various threads on this forum and there are some similar posts but cant find someone with the exact same symptoms.

A friend has an FG MKII XR6 and from what I can see is that when you hit the unlock button, it allows the use of the button on the boot lid, it doesn't act like the boot unlock on AU, BA, BF and from what I have been told, is why there is no unlock button on the dash like the earlier models.

Thanks Papa Smurf, that could explain it. I just assumed the button on the remote opened the boot so you could be right as there is indeed no boot unlock on the dash. I wonder if it can be added as a function to open the boot from the remote..
