Hi All,
I have a problem with the wifes 04 BA, just ticked over 200 000kms. Over the last year or so the car would idle rough from time to time but now the car constantly runs rough when idling in Drive. Park and Neutral aint as bad but its still not as smooth as it should be.

I've been hunting through the forums the last couple of days to try and pin point what the issue could be. So far I have:
-Put a tank of BP ultimate through it
-Fuel filter was replaced last service
-Coils and spark plugs were done 20000kms ago (genuine ford coils and Bosch Platinum plugs)
-Run liquid moly engine oil flush and oil change (recommended from some other posts)
-Checked all the connections to the Coils and VCT Solenoids
-Cleaned Intake manifold
-Checked Fuel Reg - all good/clean

I did notice a very small amount of oil sitting just under the drivers side VCT solenoid - not sure if this maybe could be indicating a problem with the solenoid or not.

Anyone got any ideas? At the moment I'm dreding that maybe its one of the VCT solenoids as from what I have read it seems to be exactly my issue...

Had a similar problem with the wifes BA sprayed some carby clean in the throttle body and gave it a
good clean and problem was solved for the price of some carby clean what have you got to lose :)

Maybe worth changing the throttle body (new or second hand).
