Wow, hello ya'll... Happen to be pissing around in the engine bay near the region of the RESISTOR TRICK ..
All the PDF wrote:
A 7k resistor needs to be attached between the Violet and Purple-Green wires
A 1.2k resistor needs to be attached between the Light Brown-Red wire and the Yellow wires

in the snipped off auto box connector
and noticed the resistor trick to fool the ECU has been removed. Cannot remember why it has been removed, but figure may have been using a manual ECU or had a J3 with a manual tune working correctly at some point.

My question --- How well would car be expected to run without the resistors in place given that I am no longer convinced the J3 is working (speed limiter is back, after supposedly being deleted) and the manual ECU has been swapped out during fault finding unrelated problems.

Would it purely keep thermo fans running the whole time, or are there worse consequences for my ill conceived shinanigans?!
