Cheers there’s seems to be no sigh of a crank sensor ever being at the front of the motor at the position that you have said next will to be looking at the knock sensor. Would the crank sensor may be put some where else as my friends falcon is the same as myn and his doesn’t have the crank sensor at the front either. I’m hoping that one of these sensors is preventing car from firing as it wines over but would fire have replaced dizzy the cap inhibitor switch all relays and fuseable links and so far have had no sucess

knock sensor shouldnt stop the car running i dont think, there there to help prevent pinging/knocking.
the sensor is hard to spot is only 2 wires hanging out of the timing cover

your car is EL isnt it? just done some googling and they don't have the sensor in the timing cover all the sensing is done through the distributor

Very good point there, i got caught out by that recently changed window motors decided to swap ignition keys so i actually had a spare car cranked fine no start tho interior light donno if it works as no globe in it checked fuse anyway and there it was blown swapped it over and all was good
