hi
just a question what would cause the ef fairmont 6cyl to loose power on first take off then come good and stay good until you stop somewhere and restart sometimes it does it but not all and once going is great. it does however start first go on petrol now. replaced the fuel pump and replaced the carrier as the carrier got rusted out with the old petrol from running on lpg and never running on petrol. it also has a new fuel filter, bought a new quality used fuel rail with a reg, thats from a au as the connections are just a hose and clamp like the older ones but yet to fit it bought quality used injectors off a au with the 4 spray, but yet to fit them. the fuel pump and holder has a length of gates sumbersible fuel hose now like this https://www.gatesaustralia.com.au/~/med ... us--nz.pdf. that should be ok and shouldnt blow should it as its designed for intank fuel pumps. using the au fuel rail as it has the hose and clamp setup and not the quick disconnect and at some point fitting ea-ed mpfi sedan steel fuel lines and need the hose and clamp setup. out of using good secondhand from ea-ed lines and getting roll of bundy tubing and bending new lines in same direction as original what would yous do. until you can make new lines up could you just cut the quick disconnect off with pipe cutter just below it and just push hose on and use 3 clamps to get it going again until you get a chance to fit the new lines. would it be the cat converter or oxy sensor. also what would cause a small rattle only while reving engine |

Most likely Your First go is before the O2 sensor has warmed up, and your tune difference between petrol and lpg means that there is not enough, or too much fuel at that first take off.
After the O2 sensor is warm, and starts working, the ECU will correct fuel calcs fairly quickly. Can also be an old/defective O2 Sensor, or just LPG issues Nigel |

What would cause a rattle only while reving engine
Also now got the gates submerge type fuel inj hose that’s the right hose for intank pumps isn’t it? Would the gates submerged type fuel inj hose go soft and blow or stay normal Would that be likely to blow like the normal hose would after going soft when using in tanks |

Small Rattle might be the Exhaust Head Shield not tightened correctly - was common.
Fuel hose is fine - with clamps. The factory setup sometimes leaked down a little. And Ive in the past run good used Similar Model (EB-ED) Fuel Lines. Bundy tube is unpainted/plated although Ive used that in other applications Nigel |

It doesn’t appear to be alternator as it seems to be charging ok still but once the power steering pump and hose is done will then get a new one just to be safe and water pump isn’t old probably a few months maybe and always had proper coolant in
The first replacement went and didn’t have right coolant in so thinking that might’ve been reason What is chance of it being alternator shouldn’t be Used normal rubber fuel line and it went soft and blew so used gates submerged type which is designed for in tank where normal isnt Is there anything wrong with using bundy tubing for fuel lines and bending it in way factory ones were |

Seems like your going to use bundy tube anyway - go for it. It will work.
Fuel line - You needed High Pressure fuel hose, and I bet what you first got wasnt. So it blew. All good, youve sorted it. Over and out |

So the gates submerged type in tank 100 psi burst pressure 500 psi hose is ok for in the tank and will last a long time?
