I've posted about this before about a 94 Ford Falcon 6cyl automatic and I've made progress since. I can turn the key and hear the fuel pump prime, but the car won't crank, in neither neutral nor park. Inhibitor switch has been replaced, and inspected by a mechanic. All good with that. I've taken the starter motor out and found the pinion gear was extended out. I set it up to test with jumper cables and screwdriver and the gear was turning fine. If the starter motor works this way, what's the next step in checking where the fault might be?

Hold the key to start and give the dash a little slap above your left knee, The BCM module on these gets dry solder joints and play up. See how that goes and report back
