Hi all, im new to this forum,
I just aquried an ED XR8 fairmont that had a slight fire under the bonnet (not an electrical fire), I have repaired all burnt wiring and it is running really rich and wont rev past 4000 rpm. I have removed ECU and had it checked out, I have checked injectors are pulsing and not stuck open, Has new dizzy cap, leads and plugs, Not sure what to do next, any advice is welcome. cheers |

That's all I can think off, not well versed with V8 so someone else might chime in.

I found a vac leak which made a little different,
Only engine code im getting is 85 (purge canister circuit fault) which i believe wouldnt cause this kind of trouble. |

where was the burnt wiring you repaired?

If you have a code for the purge canister, i would investigate that first.
