Hello everybody my au series 2 ghia has suddenly developed a code 32 airbag fault does anybody know where to look for the problem for this or how to fix it thanks I have checked the fuses etc and the underseat connections so IDK anyway thanks for any advice Regards Steve

From memory, there is on the passenger side where the PS airbag would go, there is a little stop plugged into the wiring harness that would connect to the Airbag ER 14B55A resistor, they used to be a problem.

yes i think i remember seeing that when i rebuilt the car so that effects the drivers air bag does it so would i just replace the resistor and see how we go oh is that resistor just above the ecu in that region i will have a look at the wiring diagrams again thanks

Hi mate still trying to sort the airbag issue is that resistor your referring to black and about 1 inch square and about half an inch thick? it just hangs out of the harness near the cpu does it just pull out and I replace it I have checked the resistance on the drivers seat belt pretensioner and it seems ok it measures 3.5 ohms so I think it is in range could you get back to me as soom as your able thanks mate regards steve

Yes it is easily removed and, if not the issue, maybe the airbag sensor at the front of the vehicle?

flash code 32 = drivers airbag- possibly fault in clockspring.
disconnect battery -wait 10 min.
-remove air bag and attach a 3.5ohm resistor across air bag harness plug -reconnect battery and see if code has changed -if now working correctly replace air bag -if not attach resistor across harness plug at bottom of steer column -if now working correctly replace clock spring and check -also possible to have more than 1 fault.......
