hi
have to get the ed out the yard its in and have possibly decided to sell both ed and eventually ef and get another good ed. want fairmont level but if a fairmont cant be found then will have to add the fairmont bits to a lower spec if thats all that can be found on good condition, which brings below questions questions for ed model 1. Climate control - do you have to swap whole heaterbox or can you just add the climate bits to the old heaterbox already there, and guess a whole fairmont dash harness will be easier. will a eb2 smartlock fairmont dash harness work on a ed cfc free climate control module or does the fairmont dash harness have to be a ed.and what other parts exactly do you need. 2. power windows - if the particular ed has abs but no power windows does the floor harness need swapping or only the door harness and window reg and door trim which all are easy, but if no abs then guess floor harness would need doing too. 3. fairmont/fairlane seats - getting seats out a fairmont/fairlane would be easy as they bolt straight in if both are same vintage. was wondering do nc series 2 seats and door trims bolt into a standard sedan body, have heard front and alot of the back seat does bolt in. does any mods need to be done. if you want electric seat bases how would you go about them, how easy are da/dc ltd bases to get and do x series bases bolt in. will ed seats bolt to au rails/base and do they bolt to ed. 4. cruise control and low coolant light - do all eb2/ed have the high series engine bay harness and are all plugs there for cruise control and low coolant light even if it doesnt have those options. what do you need to add cruise control and low coolant light if it doesnt already have them. are wires in lower spec for cruise control and low coolant. will bring it to fairmont level. 5. sports dash - does the sports dash plug straight in if its doesnt already have it, whats got to be done. also to pull the floor wiring out does carpet have to come out as well as seats if the lower specs in the best condition itd be best to get that and add the bits to it, or may look for a fairmont and keep the parts as spares thanks |
