OK, I bought my ute new and I believe it was one of the last XH XR6s to be built. There were a few bits with it that I did not order including cruise control which I was very pleased with until a while ago when it failed.
I was 'cruising' at the time with my foot just clear of the accelerator pedal when the pedal suddenly came up and the cruise system had stopped working. Local Ford guys say bad switches, seems funny to me that three switches would fail at the same time although I know they share the same wire. Cruise off and on button works, just the other three have no effect. I have checked brake lights are working and the switch on the master cylinder checks out OK with a meter. Any suggestions please? |

Sounds silly, but check the cruise cable hasn't popped off at the throttle body. Mine did that and I wasted hours checking fuses and wiring...
Good luck.

A common fault is the safety cut off switch on the brake master cylinder fails and leaks internally. Pull the plug off and check that. If it looks ok test the switch is working. (It's the switch that is screwed into the side of the master cylinder at the end furthermost from the fire wall).
