I figured it was in limp mode as the connector wasn’t all the way on. So I just push it super hard & it should just click in?

I did apply a fair bit of force when I last tried it & it felt like something was preventing it from pushing the entire way in.

I’ll apply some wd on the plug before doing this again.

It looked like there were some tabs on the outside of the transmission connector that would prevent this from happening & I thought it may of twisted on somehow.

I’ll give it a go tomorrow & keep you updated.

no worries at all mate, i had to push fairly hard on the "test looms" i have out of the car the click is barely noticeable, but a light pull on the plug and it didn't come off, the little tabs it hooks onto is only small.

Update, I tried pushing it on & no matter how hard i tried it just wouldn’t go on all the way home.

As I couldn’t see inside properly due to the location of the plug & the car being on the ground, I decided to use my phone camera to take a pic so I could see.

Low and behold I found the culprit right away, it was a bent pin, lucky I didn’t use too much force or it would of snapped the plastic & would of been game over.

Now the hard part was to try and bend it back when I couldn’t see it & had to be mindful of the plastic. Somehow I managed to straiten it, by trial & error, plus taking pics along the way.

When I felt it looked good I pushed the plug & click it went on no problem at all.

Then took it for a drive to make sure it wasn’t in limp mode 3rd gear only & it shifted perfect in every gear right away.

Can’t believe a simple piece of plastic could cause so many dramas, but in our case it did. Thanks so much for your help Robertau !

No problems at all Glad i could be of help didn't even think of pins being bent something for me to keep a eye out for in the future i think
