High all..

ok, todays query is - is the BA rear suspension/diff same as the BF rear? can the BA be used instead of the BF?

have found a BA rear with the correct ratio rear for the other half's BF. her BF needs bushes replaced & thinking of swapping the BF with the BA whilst i replaxce the bushes. is that possible?

Thanks

I don't keep track of all your cars, that's the thing.

Ratios vary as we know.

There are some variations - bits and pieces covered in these threads:

ok - thanks Snap! ..... no need to keep track ...

1- Ol Yella AU wagooon ......... xtaxi duel fuel [taxi yellow] & 4sp auto

2- Ol White Yella BF wagooon . xtaxi dedicated LPG [taxi yellow, then painted 'roughly', white] & 4sp auto

3- Eb Wagooon .................... duel fuel non taxi & manual

4- Her BF Sedan .................. duel fuel injected LPG & 4sp auto

the idea is to replace with a betterer condition cradle etc & at later stage replace bushes & refit. BA diff want to fit in one piece not mix & match.

I haven't gone through those threads in detail, so there's most likely a fair amount of useless info too.

Diff bush is std info, and I'd guess with the PITA rubber bush removal, superpro bushes would be the preferred items to fit.

been going thru them all & links. do i presume that the BA had the right front bushh sticking out with the later BF being flush? & yes -pretty useless using the rubber mounts/bushes.

Never owned a BA or BF, so I wouldn't know.
We do have a spare parts BA sedan in the workshop I help out at. It's an ex taxi so the bushes will be flogged out.
In those threads, Jastel (a member here as well) seems to know them pretty well.

I take it there must be a reason you're not doing up over time the incoming cradle, then swap it in the once. Once would be a PITA, but to do it twice ??????

BA Rear cradle is different as is the FG. From the 1st of October 2005 they changed to the larger bushes which were still crap and the FG had a slight position change and the same crappy BF bushes, the Nolathane are supposed to be the best.
