This has only just started recently but when i have my headlights on and i indicate left my headlights will completely turn off but when returning the indicator to the middle they will turn back on

Not sure how to fix this was wondering if anyone could help.

BFs were known to have dodgy stalks where wires break in them or short out.
Hopefully its not too serious where this needs to be changed.
