Hey guys just want to know what the torque is for head bolts on 1998 EF Fairmont with a tickford motor in it

use the torque settings for the gasket you get (should be on the package).
will be something like 40NM then 90 degrees.

It will depend on the gasket you are using.
AU Multi layered steel type will require 30NM of torque and then 120 degrees. The composite E-series types are different.

There's no such thing as "1998 EF Fairmont".
That last 90 or 120 degrees turn is scary, but it has to be done. Ford also recommends using new set of bolts because they are designed to stretch on that last bit and may snap if reused (cause they have already stretched when they were first installed). Or not hold correctly. Or first one then the other. |
