I know it's been asked with people going the other way, but I'll be getting my hands on a stock AU engine soon, question is, will there be any issues fitting an EF/EL Tickford head and cam to it, or am I better off going the AU Tickford head? What about an egas head?

The AU block with the EF head is the combination Jim Mock suggested...
Quote:
The EF/EL head uses nice large ports and runners and improved combustion chamber design. Be aware, however, some ELs were released with hybrid engines using an AU-spec small-port head.

By far, the best head is that fitted to the EF/early EL. "The EF head makes good power in standard form and, when you decide to go further, they’re easier to port," says Jim.

That's good to know, I am getting a standard AU motor shortly, and I have a reco EF/early EL "94AB" head here, but I may try to find a Tickford head.

EF. EL. AU tickford heads are the same except the AU and the last of the EL have smaller valve stems and different valve springs, otherwise same chambers same ports same valve head sizes.
