I've have
EA Falcon S multi point 5 speed AU ute 5l V8 5 speed and Ba XR6 5 speed The V8 cant match the 6 around town but on hway the V8 isn't far behind. The Ba if treated easy will blitz the other two. |

I have a EBII V8 Fairmont Wagon, great sound, but bad on fuel.
I just love the V8!

I have an EL XR6 Auto which averages 15-16L\100kms around town idling in traffic and about 11L\100kms on the highway but my AU2 XR8 Auto used to average 14.5-15.5L\100kms around town and 8L\100kms on the highway. I suspect my XR8 had been tuned at some stage in its life. I managed 550kms from a tank towing a car trailer and small car on the highway and when I filled up it took 58 Litres.

First answer...who cares!? you now have the better engine.
2nd answer... XH 5.0L auto ute gets around 450km/55L around town. |

My AU1 Sedan 4,0L gets me from Horsham to Melbourne and back (650Km) on $100. My AU2 XR8 Ute (200Kw) does the same on $130.
