Sorry if this is a dumb question.

My mechanic changed out a new but faulty converter that he couldn't get to stop being too lean, and put the old one back in which idles fine and revs fine, but now has stuff all power when accelerating.

He has installed the converter with the idle and mixture screws at the back and the solenoid on the bottom.

Would this impact performance?
