Hi,
I have been noticing the odd coolant drop under the vehicle and noticed I have lost a small amount of radiator coolant from the header tank. There has been a few hot days , not sure what was happening so took the underneath splash guard off and noticed bottom radiator hose had some coolant remnants. I could not see any leaks from the radiator itself or from the radiator hose when doing the squeeze test. Would the bottom radiator hose be the culprit, it seems to occur over couple of days, not sure if it losses coolant every day as such. Photo Attached. Peter

Au and BA Falcons have issues with the overflow bottle cracking on the seams.
I would also be looking at the lower hose that runs from the radiator to the overflow tank, it can develop a soft spot? https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Gates-Radia ... rk:21:pf:0 |

Hello Papa Smurf,
My header tank is in good condition. I'll be having another look at the lower hose you suggested that runs from the radiator to the header tank. |

i would also check the radiater side tanks as i have had one leak because of the sealing leaking - where the metal tabs fold over the plastic side tanks, it had leaked down similar to yours.

G'day Mad2
I'll have to remove the thermofans to have a proper look, I could not see any leak from the sides as such when I had the splashguard removed. Only replaced the radiator about 2.5 years ago, had done a lot of miles since then. I drove for about 45 minutes yesterday, turned motor off, popped bonnet open, then heard a slight noise somewhere near or in the radiator area, noise lasted for about maybe 10 seconds then stopped. Could have been coolant or air leak but no sign of any coolant on the ground. I'll have a more thorough check on Thursday. |

for the other half's car i had to pull the fans out as it was hard to see where it was leaking from otherwise. all i had with em in was coolant sitting in the bottom rad support!. hopefully it's not major.
