Ive got an EF2 V8 and Ive bought an EL XR8 manual conversion. Will the XR computer work in my EF as I know that the I6 EF/EL ECU's were vastly different

Yep. I'm pretty sure the EF/EL V8 ECUs are interchangable.

They are.. Only the ELGT one isn't as they had 24lb injectors.

I think there is a difference in the cooling fans wiring between the 2 models :!:

Agreed. Whilst the ECU will plug in, you should check the wiring between the 2 as there may be some slight differences as highlighted above. A basic max ellery's book has sufficient data....

That would explain why diagnostics said I had a problem with my fans. Stupid GT ECU and supposedly 'NL' wiring.
