Hey guys
My AU ute crapped itself last week. A few days prior I noticed a bit of a shudder/hesitation here and there when accelerating. Then on the day it went bad, I was out driving and it suddenly went really rough when accelerating, then about 10 min later started shaking and going worse. It chewed through a heap of fuel in like 5 minutes almost running me out. the engine overheated too, which it has never done. I've had some time to check over it all now, cylinder 2 and 5 ain't got no spark (I know it's a wasted spark so I get the 2 not working together) When I pull the leads off 2 and 5 at idle, the revs don't drop at all. Replaced plugins and leads, still the same. Starts easy, no trouble. If I rev it to 4-5k, it suddenly goes smooth. Spitting out a lot of fuel from the exhaust though. Would anyone have any suggestions on what to check or ideas what it could be? Thanks heaps in advance. |

Im not right up on the au elec's but sounds like maybe one of the coil packs has died, which would explain the raw fuel out the exhaust as it hasnt been burnt in the cylinder.

Yes i mean a pack all in 1. Not individual coils like the B series on each plug.
