Hi all, have a dead au 6 starter motor & was told all EA-FG are interchangeable.

Got an FG 6, and it doesn’t fit, top hole doesn’t line up & doesn’t go in all the way home.

So is there a different starter for ZF 6 speeds?

Has anyone else had this issue ?

Thanks in advance

Ea to BF are interchangeable but FG is different particularly in manual (but it may be all FG)

Cheers Johnny.

Good to know, this was off an FG ZF auto so all FG must be different.

It appears EF EL are longer and silver & AU-BF are shorter in length and black(slightly more room to get to the top bolt too.

Hope this info helps others.

not 100% sure ... but .. for the E series, early starter was bulky, later was thinner, but still similar length. not sure on AU as i havn't had much to do re changing starters. BA/BF are thinner & shorter than previous models & pretty sure they can be used on earlier models [EA to AU]. the other half's BF starter replacement was silver not black, however not 100% on it [lol]. NO idea on FG starter motors.

BA BF FGI FGII FGX use part number BG 11001A but some are listed for BAF 11001A .
I have an AU starter and a FG starter and to look at, they are the same (except for the smaller size of the FG one) There is NO variation for turbo or auto or manual.
