Does any one know how to do a quick fix on a broken blend door/mixer shaft. Can the shaft and flaps be bypassed so it only blows hot air through the heater, as mine broke when it was on the cold setting. Good in summer, but no good in the winter. I've heard it costs $600 plus to have a new shaft fitted. It's a big job! Anyone know any short cuts?

Hi. Papa Smurf. I was afraid of that! If my heater had broken in the hot position, I could have bypassed the heater by cutting ,then joining the heater inlet and outlet hoses in the engine bay,to get me through the summer ,then reconnect it in the winter, but, unfortunately it broke on cold, and stays cold. Thanks anyway. 49 spinner
