Hi people I have a 2003 Ba Fairmont Ghia only 1 interior light comes on when I open the doors the other 1 doesn't come on but you can turn it on manually so nothing wrong with the globe how can I fix this thanks Matt.

Sorry it's the top interior light above the right hand side rear door all the other lights come on when I open the door I think the switch is buggered I can hear a buzzing noise inside it the globe does work. The switch doesn't click very well like the other 1.

The switch doesn't click very well like the other 1. not sure what you mean by buzzing noise & where it's coming from?. do you mean the light above the rear drivers side door? sorry i forgot to mention about the lights above the two rear doors . if it's the light above the rear door .... they do wear altho you can dismantle it and 'play' with the actual internal switch lever. i had to do this with my lights as most i have didn't work correctly. |

The Buzzing noise is behind the light switch must be shorting out the car is a Ghia it has lights above the rear doors too I'll pull the switch apart and have a look thanks for your time.

it's probably not shorting out ... most likely not making proper contact. hopefully i helped.

Yep unless a bee is stuck in your light it shouldnt buzz. Maybe its arcing because of a loose contact as Mad said.
They are s**t switches.

no probs. how did you go?
the light is actually very easy to remove. on the light end (clearish plastic light shines thru) if you look closely right at the end there is a small slot that i put the head of a small screwdriver in to push the clip out of the way so the light can pivot (switch goes down & other end goes up). you can then remove the actual light/switch to replace the globe etc etc or unplug from wiring loom. don't lose loom piece back in headlining as it can be a pain to retreive. |
