Just a heads up for others who buy these.
Recently bought generic SCA brand disc pads for my AUII & discovered they won't fit in the caliper with the anti squeak shims fitted. To be clear, the pads come with a small shim of red sheet metal that clips to the back of each pad. Pads sit in the frame ok but you can't fit the piston part back on as the shims are just a smidge too thick. I "could" have got the caliper back together.... BUT the brakes would have been jammed on with out any pedal input. ...& yes, I'd homed the pistons back with a G clamp! The shims are only there for noise reduction so I deleted them (with fingers crossed), pads squeaked for the first hundred K's but are ok/quiet now. |
