Fascinating read, thanks Gas Man. I am curious to know more about using hydrogen. What are your thoughts on using it alongside LPG?

Unless your an engineer with a lot of money, time, patience and resources, don't bother.
It does work, ~20% benefit is easily achievable, but the money you save your only spending on renewing your oil more often, replacing parts more frequently, blowing up the odd airbox, you will make mistakes along the way, it is not reliable, it takes a lot of maintenance and a lot of time, I would advise against it, it is a very cool topic, there is a lot of time and excitement to have with it, but it will consume your time for the next two years as much as a newborn child Have fun with everything else though, hot air intakes are good fun and tyre pressures too

I've learnt a thing or two about public relations with this thread, everything you write will be taken literally and commented upon
Cheers mate, I'm looking forward to getting my house and shed where I have test facilities, can test the flow of different air intake setups, play with water injection setups and get an engine to modify to the enth degree. Matt

This iphone, android and win mobile app, using your phones gps, tells you the most efficient route to travel, when to speed up, slow down and what speed to sit on for best fuel economy. With a slider bar to prioritise fuel useage with time taken. If it works, win!
Gets released soon: http://www.goecospeed.com/

Hello Fordmods, have not logged in for years.
Something I found a while ago, after checking with mechanics and much reading; synthetic engine oil, particularly for diesels; say Gulf Western 15-40 full synthetic diesel engine oil. Running my lpg only AU2 engined 4L intech, manual (if that makes any difference), I found the engine response increased notably, engine noise was reduced, fuel efficiency increased and power increased also. That and it was cheaper, 20L for $70-80 odd (3 years ago now, can't remember) Diesel engine oils are known for having a similar or better quality base oil, then higher quality friction modifiers and detergents than what is manufactured for petrol and lpg based engines. Essentially, as far as I was guided, there was no reason not to make the switch. a** dyno reported ~15% increase in acceleration and a nicer experience overall. Interested to hear from anyone more knowledgeable. Cheers!
