How do I replace the timing chain case without dropping the sump? The lower timing chain guide sits behind the corner of the sump, so it can't be installed on the case before the case is installed. The engine is in the car with the head off. I don't want to pull the engine and remove and reinstall the sump if I can avoid it.
Is it possible to secure the bottom timing chain guide in place with sealant? The sump has a surface just below the guide that seems to match the guide's position. Can the guide be stuck to that? Or is there some other way of doing it? Thanks
