Oh dear, didn't think I'd get any controversy over this, all my life I've modified cars, it's what I do.
Sounds like it's getting harder and harder. I would have thought alot of components would be straight swap, guess not |

BTW when was everyone who modifies falcons called a wanker? a BA XT falcon is known for being the base model 6cyl. have a look under my bonnet and you will not see a straight motor.

i personally see no point in it if you're just throwing a 5.4L POS in it.. just go buy an xr8..
but if you're doing it to put a diiferent v8 in it i guess thats possible...

{USERNAME} wrote: Then u got an XR6 with a V8 in it? Almost as bad as those wankers with Holdens and a Chev badge attached. If its that clean you'll get good money for it. Get an XR8, much easier and the way it was meant to be.. Lol i'm not sure if you realise an XR6 with a v8 would be pretty much be an xr8?! Its not like a B-series car is something ultra special and you shouldnt be changing the engine or something! hell change the badges and you'll have a hard time convincing someone it was an xr6! I've done a couple of eseries V8 conversions and when done properly its no worse than a car that would have come with an 8 from the factory.

If I remember correctly the xr8 has a small brake upgrade which would be required
Also sure the xr6 came out base as a hot 6 but in b series it's just a povpack with visual upgrades. bodykit and interior strongly recommend a donor, but would also say with all the effort you'd want to do something specil to make it worth, a pair of something hanging off the sides may I suggest.

Dude, in 20 years from now when you find your hacked xr6/8 in the barn, then find my original xr6 in my barn….. I know which one would hold it’s value! Why? Because people will appreciate the machine that Ford made! Not the wanna be engineering nightmare you made!!!!!
Your better off putting a turbo kit in your 6 so you don’t disrespect Fords hard work!! |
