Hi guys I have no high beam on my el fairmont ghia.
I've replaced the relays, checked fuses, bulbs all ok, tried another combination switch & all wiring is intact. I'm at a loss so thought id ask here before pulling the main switch & replacing it. All high beams are dead, even the high beam bulb in the dash clusters not working. I can hear the headlight relay under the bonnet clicking, but not the relay next to it that should be the high beam relay. Both these relays show constant power to 2 of the pins on each relay. I just tried a second combination switch but still no luck. Even tried a different main switch but no go. Hopefully there's a way to hotwire the highbeam switch or relay to get them working again or its off to town to the auto electrician. Just hoping some one here could shed some light! Thanks guys! |

Hi. if you have power to the relays ........ do you have an earth to the relay?, check for continuity from the correct pin to the body/battery. |

Thanks for he reply mate. As it turned out one wire down under the relay block had been eaten by rats! It was a tricky spot that was hard to see & where the loom goes back under the guard.
I ended up running a new wire from under the relay to where the combination switch plugs in. Really wasn't expecting that! |

Really wasn't expecting that! good news then!. on the 'B' series they get into the passenger corner under the ABS module & chew. |
