Hey guys new to the forum,
Just wondering if anyone can help me get to the bottom of thia issue.
Driving my xd yesterday and the drivers side wiring loom under the dash started smoking and nearly caught fire then melted 2 wires going into the engine bay!
Has anyone had this happen before or know how it happens?
Just bought a new wiring loom as i think its past the point of no return.
Thanks for your help

Hi & welcome.

with the loom 'melting' i presume it had a direct short on it & no fuse to blow & stop any problems. or it could also be that the wiring in the dash was too small for the load on it & fuse was too large?.

otherwise you will have to workout what caused it to eliminate it from happening again.

cheers

Hey guys,
Ended up tracing the cable back in the loom it is the red and green stripe wire which according to the manual is ignition wire. It didnt blow a fuse but melted the wire from the loom under the dash all the way into the engine bay.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
