Location: Newcastle
NSW, Australia

Hi all,
My wife's Fairmont is stuck on demist. I am reasonably sure that is the control arm behind the dash. I am not comfortable pulling the dash out to get at it, plus I doubt my back could handle it.
Does anyone know a good mechanic in the Newcastle area that can fix it, reasonable cost would be good but more so someone who knows what they are doing.
She loves this car and we have it for a long time now. i rarely drive it but it is nice to drive.
Anyway, any help is appreciated.
Cheers

if memory serves right if its an early e series they're vacume operated there should be a thin green and also a black hose i think the green goes to heater tap and black to manifold or other way around has been a minute look around the washer bottle area make sure they're connected but if the control arm is floppy etc they can some times break at the elbow behind the unit which is fairly simple to get to just take the dash cluster surround off and yea its fairly self explanatory
