Quite some time ago there was a really good mod published detailing how to make the cable for plugging MP3s etc. into the aux. input in a BA. Does anyone have the information still? I can't seem to find it.

The plug for the aux connection is a 6 pin Aerpro AP1761
It has some of the pins missing which can be cut out of the other 10 pin plug that comes with it and placed into the blank holes. Looking from behind the 6 pin AP1761 it resembles the letter C pin not used...........sense Left channel Audio Shield right channel..........Gnd To avoid electrical interference it is advised to connect the two Gnds together. To active the connection, connect the sense pin to gdn. Then press the am button twice to active it.

This cable works and is a great alternative to forking out cash to ford, but there's one you can buy now from ford ($100 or so) that amplifies the signal.
The one described here is too quiet for a lot of people.

All you get for $130 is a hand full of electronic components, plugs and some cable. As Silicon Chip Magazine has said many times. These things are over priced.
All it contains is a pre amp kit and grabs the 12v supply from the blue phone plug. ford yellow wire is 12v acc supply ford black wire is gnd ford black-yellow is 12v battery. Grab a pre amp kit and make your own.

I think a DIY pre-amp would be beyond the ability of your average person.
That's why we pay installers / painters / electricians etc.

Some one always knows some one who is handy with a soldering iron.
The diy kits are that easy now a day's. $15 for kit or get some one to install for $100
