Hi all, I have a 1982 XE Sedan, I have converted it from a 4.1 auto to a 5.8 auto using the V8 engines original FMX box. The motor has been totally rebuilt with a stage one Cam and other goodies such as extractors. I had drums on the rear so to stop it better I found an XR6 rear end and installed that. On first road test I was disappointed as it was revving at 2850RPM at 100KMH. On investigation I found that the XR^ diff was 3.45 to one (I think), so I changed that to a 2.92 to one. A little better, now its 2500RPM at 100KMH. I am told that there is a 2.72 to one available for that model ( but I need to find a paddock of rocking horses to get one). Does anyone know of where I might get one or any other ideas how to reduce my cruising revs. I am not worried about economy, or I obviously wouldn't have put that motor in, nor do I want to be quick off the mark, it sound s brilliant and its just a cruiser foir me. Ant clues appreciated. Cheers sacko7
