Hey just writing here because I’m quite new to forums and haven’t found much regarding this. T5 in my Ute recently went up s**t creek and originally was going to convert to a t56 but mechanic said it would’ve brought the price up out of my price bracket (2nd year apprentice plumber wages). I’ve found a few T5’s on marketplace but most are either out of old SS’s or AU’s. One T5 I’ve found has relatively low km’s and came out of an AU. The bell housing from my old T5 is still in good shape so would it be as simple as just changing the bell housing from my old trans onto the new one and if not what would be the best route to go. Really appreciate any/all help, sooner I can get her on the road the happier I’ll be!!
(Side note: The T5 from my ute split the tailshaft and already had some bad damage to the box itself, however new clutch industries heavy duty clutch with less than 2000km on it and new flywheel are both still good) |

AU T5 is cable. BA T5 is hydraulic clutch.
Bellhousing and the front bearing support plate is different. I am unsure whether it is a straight swap though

So if I put the bf bellhousing on the au t5 would I still be able to use my old clutch?

I've recently chucked a t5 from an au into my bf ute dude.
Did you go ahead with the swap? |
