Hi guys,
just wondering if anyone could tell me if the BA falcon wagon came out with " optional " ABS ? If so I would like to disable and remove the ABS and any information helping would be appreciated. I understand that I would need to get a extension housing and put a speed sensor in as it is currently shared on the can bus network. Also, does anyone now if SRS was " OPTIONAL" on the BA falcon wagon as well. Last edited by nickyp00 on Wed Aug 28, 2024 3:59 pm, edited 1 time in total. |

Minimising electrical complexity and future headaches with electrical modules as the vehicle ages, do you know if ABS is an option on these vehicles or not?
Similar to the reason why I removed the dated factory icc module and installed a double din conversion which was an excellent conversion I am quite pleased with. Also does anyone know if SRS was also optional and if they could forward the documentation that would also be appreciated. |

ABS was standard on the BA and disabling it would be illegal. Maybe after disabling it just remove the dash and take out the ABS warning light...

From what I have been reading online, ABS was mandatory in Australia from 2011 onwards, just because it was included as an option does not mean that it was mandatory, I know for a fact that the BF utility had it as an option, a friend of mine had one without ABS, just trying to clarify the legislation on this matter because if it is : optional equipment" then logic would dictate that it would be available with and without the option and hence they don't have to be there., same with SRS air bags, from what date on did they become mandatory ?
So if anyone could provide documentation to the effect showing the status as " optional " with regards to ABS and SRS, that would be very helpful. |
