I'd go lowering before wheels.

hey dyl
ive just priced up some king springs for my ea, they were $120 from Oxfords motor spares, just off the torquay highway. thats $120 for the front and $120 for the rear
lows and superlows are the same price

we went to a tyre place and they said that superlows are illegal as they can fall out of place in the rear of the car so you'd have to get shorter shocks to suit

they also said that you may need a camber kit for the ea, dont know if it is needed in the ef

for what you said about the racv, 30mm lowered thats how far the lows will drop the car, so i think that lows are the way to go in your situation.

i got all of mine done for $740 fitted.

You gotta go the superlows makes the car sit o much nicer
I got Monroe Gt Shocks
Camber kit is neccessary i had heaps of negative camber before it got adjusted
Wheel Allignment

you'll be disappointent if you don't go for superlows. Think of an xr do you want it that height cause that is around the same height with lows.

hey,
you have also forgot another option.... king spring ultra lows....
i have them in my ef xr with standard shocks. they look awsome.

with regards to shocks..... when i had all the standard springs out, i found that the front springs are almost identicle in size to the king springs..
so correct me if im wrong but i think you could get away with jsut buying a set of rear shockers and springs.

jsut a word of warning if you are going to buy a set of these... you cannot drive in almost any driveway, just last week i ripped!! yes ripped my front bar off. pulling out of a driveway that has NO slope on it. whoops. i have also found it to be difficult when getting your car serviced or getting new tyres put on... i couldnt get up any of the ramps in the workshops!

also camber kit YOU WILL NEED. you can expect tyres to go bald within 1000 kms of driving

other than that i think with these springs and standard wheels ( 16" xrs )
my car looks awsome.... if you want a pic jsut hollar :o) also if you want a set of standard xr springs equivelent to king lows throw me a message.

I hace the tickford suspension so i guess it would be the same as the xr's, as for the ultra lows i take it they are pretty damn low, i cant go to low as insurance so it annoyes me a bit, as much as i would love to just drop my car i am restricted. Thanks for all the feedback guys. Hopefully drop it in the future.
