Subtitle: I hate points....

I'm wanting to put electronic ignition on to the XY Falcon 500 (250 cast head). Someone suggested using an XD dizzy.

The other thing I'm thinking is to use the points as a transistor assisted ignition, and use the Jaycar high energy ignition kit.

Anyone done this, or know if it works?

Yeh it works fine. Just put a heat sink on the bloody thing else it cooks itself pretty quickly.

XD Early Dizzy has a different size than later from memory, but yes that will run your ignition. It includes the igniter too so thats so much nicer.

correct me if im wrong, but cant you run an xf dizzy? that would be the go...
