why don't you give it ago then.

Build a car from scratch see how it goes, then try and fix all of the problems it has

Perhaps give it a bit more time. Reflashing would reset all the self-learning parameters.

According to Ford the problem they are fixing is "Hesitation between 2500 and 3500 RPM due to the overboost detecton system cutting in"

So if anything they would be relaxing the operation of this overboost system and perhaps smoothing out the operation of the boost control solenoid.
But I don't think they would be reducing power. I mean the engine is bloody strong, have you heard of any blowing up yet? And the power some of those aftermarket kits are putting through them is amazing. So why reduce power? If anything this reflash should give you more.

Ours has been reflashed and I think it actually goes a little better. The diff is still f**k but the car actually goes better. In fact the diff has been making noise from the day we picked it up and the dealer(Titans) keeps denying it. Then we took it to Midway and they say they can't hear anything. So we drove it to Albany and back and it howls like a friggin dog!
I think Dana has a quality control problem. Maybe the dealers will believe it's rooted when it blows itself to bits.
Oh it's also developed a melted plastic mixed with diff oil type of smell that comes from the engine bay. This happened after the 3000k service thing that they did. I say "thing" because after that the car was noticebaly harsher to drive(suspension wise) and of course the smell appeared. After taking it to midway they discovered the pre delivery check hadn't been done and the blocks they stick in the suspension for transport were still in place!?!?!
Think I'll have to adapt a 9" centre section for it and never go near Titans where they just pretend to work on your car! Oh btw they(Titans) sent someone to the house to check out the mysterious smell....Get This! they drove the car to Titans(about 25k away) and back when they said they were going to check it here! and their fix was to leave the ventilation on recirc so the smell wouldn't come into the cab!

Calm down guys.

To cure an overboost problem i'd imagine they could raise the ecu's boost limit or decrease boost (a tiny lil bit) to help stop the occational surge. If your all worried (i would be) get the thing chipped or remapped and be done with it. You'll likley pick up a heap of power in the process. Yes warranties maybe affected but it brings the T upto it's true potential. It's your choice.
