Hey,
I'm trying to run some 6ga (i think) cable.. its about 1cm in diameter from battery to boot. Whats the easiest way to run cable without hacking holes or anything in the firewall cause this isnt permanent and i dont wanna have any extra holes or anything. Thanks |

IF you got an auto use the clutch cable hole then run it down the drivers side of the car.

just hack a hole in a descreet spot and fill it with a black rubber grommet later on...

About a cm thick is 4 gauge and if you stand infront of the battery at the front of the car and look past the suspension down under a metal plate that connects the top of the suspension to the window there is a grommet in there which is much better than the clutch cable hole. I used the clutch cable hole previously but found it a pain in the a*** to feed the cable through. Its hard to explain where it is but its like in the same position as the fuse box on the same side of the car but in the engine bay.

Another well hidden way is through the gap to left of the battery behind the headlight, the skin inside the guard has to be removed then run cable up inside the guard. remove drivers side kick panel and run through the existing gromet then down the usual path to the boot. in the engine bay all you see is the terminal on the battery...

Another way I did it was to unhook the bonnet cable pull some of it into the cabin then tape your power cable to it as close as you can to the firewall then pull it back into position and away you go..
To make it a bit easier to pull the cable back and forth a quick squirt with some silicon spray makes it slide like a breeze..

Yep that is also the only way I think you can run something like 2 or 1/0 guage as well...that's what I am looking at doing. |
