Hi yall,
I got an EB II 4 speed with 240,000k's (mostly country) on it, and i use it alot for city driving. My problem (?): When it jumps from 4th to 3rd gear (changedown) there is an audible 'clak' sound (like the starter solenoid sound) and it is slow too changedown compared to 3rd to 2nd. Im told these 4 speeds have a torque converter locker that engages in 4th for cruising, im thinking this could be the cause - would this become a problem after this many k's? Yes, the tranny has been serviced. Goes very well, just this clak noise. Ive been driving around in 3rd if I do alot of city driving below 40, or up twisty roads, it drives me nutz!!! is there a pin out on the ECU to control this thingamajiggy?? I remember something about the locker here before "fordmod judgement day" Any help would be appreciated. Cheers Ben
