Just wondering what type of coolant to use in the 4.0L I6?
I vaguely remember on the old forum people mentioning specific types NOT to use, which is why I thought I'd bring this up.

So what are peoples opinions on what's good? Tectaloy, Nulon?

I asked one of probably many questions that where asked about coolants in the last forum. Nulon was recommended to me and I used it and so far so good no problems. The Nulon web site gives a bit of info on there coolant. http://www.nulon.com.au/

I used the Nulon Long Life Concentrated.

Hope this helps

Sweet as thanks, I will use Nulon.

I still recall people referring to particular types not to use though, can we remember which ones they are?

Good stuff disco frank, I use that too. Best I have ever put in my AU's. Dropped the temp in the AU1 forte to below the N and the AU1 tick4d xr6 is on the N. Low priced which is surprising for redline at $17 per bottle which is all you need for your AU 6

I dont think its "too" important which coolant is used, just make sure not to mix brands together in case of a chemical reaction. Whenever my car goes into a garage or anything, you should either supply or specify which coolant you want, or just ask for plain distilled water and add you own coolant. But I myself would do it myself :P

I I think I said it somewhere else but the best coolant to use is what has been used in the past.. The worst thing is mixing coolants. If you wanted to, you could mix it with demineralised water as the minerals in normal water is what corrodes the tank etc.
