Hey guys seriuosly contemplating getting a sub for my car just to run it off my stock system from the amp.
Wanting a 12'' in a box to hopefully sit on the diff arch.
Are there any suggestions for an alright sub that would be suited for my situation?
Can i hook up another amp to the premo sound system so it can run the sub on its own?
Is it hard to hook up to the amp as i have no experiance in this field?

Hope you guys can help us out.

Cheers, dyl.

nah its not hard at all. but i doubt you will be ble to run a 12" sub of the premo amp if its like the one in my ghia then itll only be 60w rms. besides if you go to jb hifi normally you can talk the price down a fair bit if your payin with cash

my premo amp runs a 15" sub.

not to chest aching levels, but plenty enough for stock midrange speakers.

You should disconnect the old sub and measure its resistence (using a volt metre). I have been told they are 6ohm.

If it is 6ohm then you should run a 6ohm sub (yes they are available Earthquake Magma can be 6ohm and JL audio also make 6ohm subs)

If Bently is running a 4ohm sub and it's working fine then you might be right, not a huge loss if you cook the stock amp anyway.

I would not connect another amp to the power and earth wires that are powering the stock amp. It has a very low current draw and anything larger should run 8 gauge minimum....

Cost wise was thinkin around the $200 mark. so do i have to cut wires to hook it up or is there plugs on mine that i can just pull out and switch over. what size do you guys reckon? What price would i be looking at for one with a 6 ohm thing. Should i use a 4ohm amp or is it to much of a risk to burn out the amp?

thanks.
