I highly doubt it as the Ford (and most other EEC's) have fairly complex programing and ecoding and you would have to know where all the relevant data is and how to actually change it. Companies have been working on the Ford EEC for years and still don't have the ability to change everything. I know the holden system is easier to work with and yes the electronics needed are dirt cheap, but he still wouldn't be able to do the chip himself. He would need to know someone who does reprograming of the holden comp and then just supply the bits. |

FPV - EEC didnt really change much from the early 80s until the advent of EEC-V in the states in the early 90s....
Im unsure if you've read up on tweecer but judging by some of your recent posts i think you'd find the unit very interesting.... hit google and search for tweecer or go to www.tweecer.com... But before you ask... there is little support for aussie falcons... some EB/ED stuff is supported i think... The main problems with EEC is ford constantly changing the memory locations... Have a poke around for data_mine's thread, i think called "hammer *cough* chip time"... some good reading in there.

i believe there is some in geelong that can do a complete reprogram on eec units, i dont think he is sharing anything tho and no doubt would charge decent money to do it as well.

yeah martin has pointed out I'm trying myself to do it, it is NO EASY TASK, and the going is slow - I'm more a computer geek than grease monkey, so I thought it was going to be easy for me...
No news in that other thread, as I haven't progressed far. And I'm about to start a new job (tomorrow) so it'll fall back another notch on my todo list. I haven't forgotten about it.

Commadore chips can be done more easily if you have the kalmaker setup as it makes it like an aftermarket computer. They are use on loads of different cars. I think that you can mod them with an eprom burner (I think that's what it's called), but you have to put in a plug to put the new eprom into. I think that the reason that commadore/camira computers are used on heaps of different cars is because they are a more simple design.
