Is it possible to just get a new seal for my dipstick. It works iits way just slightly out of the hole and then the car runs rough at low revs (vacuum leak).

which type do you have?
1: steel cup with a rubber insert 2: plastic plug with an O-ring

just give the dipstick a 'little bend' about half way down. this will help is stay in place.

I have dipstick #1. Its the cup with a rubber insert, or whats left of one.

if the rubber is perished, the only fix is to find a replacement at a wrecker.......
if not, as XR8dismantler suggested, bend the dipstick a little

heyo,
if you want to keep it on the cheap n nasty side, you could always wrap some electrical tape arount the top to the dipstick tube to make it a larger diamater so that the rubber seal fits tightly again. |
